The Real Reason Why Women Go On Cleanses - The Frisky
What motivates women to do a juice cleanse? Is it that the people who tout its benefits are all glowy and impossibly attractive? Is it that cleansing is a productive way to “detox”? Or is it that you want an easy way to lose weight? Well, technically, yes.
But at the root of it all, no. Let’s get real here, folks: The real reason why ladies take on a juice cleanse is to be able to say they’re on a juice cleanse.
Think about it—have you ever heard of someone going on a cleanse and not announcing it to the world?
Ok, so I totally agree with this becauseeeeeee I just went on a RAW diet and basically told everyone. The one downside? I was getting really horrible headaches because I didn’t have any protein in my diet and basically quit after 2 days. It was a valiant effort, I know, but seriously there was no point!
Final takeaways: I love food. Most importantly, I love meat and hot foods. This is NOT the diet for me, so until then, I’ll be nomming away thank you very much!!

The National - Lemonworld.
“I’m too tired to drive anywhere, anyway right now, do you care if I stay?”
The National has consistently put out one good album after another, and they always find a way to set a mood. Dark moods. Sexy moods. Moods you don’t want your grandmother knowing you have.
This song is best played on cold nights. Especially if you live in the city. Doubly especially if you live in New York City.

An Open Letter To Thinspiration Blogs
Dear Thinspiration Blogs,
At first I didn’t really understand you. I mean, I’d heard of the “pro-ana” blogs that lurked in dark corners of the internet, encouraging starvation and promoting anorexia. But thinspiration blogs are more mainstream. You show up on the Pinterest homepage in the form of…

This is actually a really interesting point. Why do we love Joan and Peggy but hate Betty?

Can we please stop talking about Karen Santorum's private medical history?
Here’s the thing. I get why people want to talk about whether or not Rick Santorum’s wife had an abortion in her second trimester of pregnancy. Santorum is anti-choice like a motherfucker - he’s not just anti-abortion, he’s anti-birth control. So I really do understand the desire to call him out…

"Most good things happen without a plan: friendships, falling in love, finding a job, and so on. If you want to make your new year count, you’ll need to be intentional — not by setting goals, but by making space in your life for what really matters"

This Is Just Great of the Day: Appearing in the latest Target circular is 6-year-old Ryan: A happy, gregarious, photogenic rising star in the world of child modeling — who happens to have Down syndrome.
Ryan has also appeared in a recent Nordstrom catalog among other clothing ads.
On the Daddyblog of a father whose child also has Down syndrome, Ryan’s mother writes:
The whole process of modeling is an extreme confidance booster for him. He received so much warmth and caring from the Nordstrom crew that he thought they were there just for him! We are honored that Ryan is making the Down syndrome community proud. He is a beautiful boy inside and out. He makes us better parents, and a better family.
Sooooooo cute

"… it’s a place people go without intention. Those millions of people spending millions of minutes on Facebook a day aren’t really there to find out what’s happening with their friends, they’re just there, in the exact same way they’re just in front of their television (plus clicking, of course). Twitter’s the same. So is Tumblr. People don’t load that up looking for something, they open their iPhone and hit the Twitter icon looking for nothing."
