THIS IS EVERYTHING.

Sylvan Esso - Coffee

I heard this yesterday via my Hype Machine feed, and fell in love. In poking around the internet I learned that Sylvan Esso is a relatively new duo; to be specific, it’s Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn, who are one of the singers from Mountain Man and the bass player from Megafaun, respectively.

Hit the play button and then remember: the bass player from Megafaun and singer from Mountain Man created this. Purveyors of traditionalist Americana creating wonderful electro-pop in their spare time.

I love mindfucks.

“It is okay to want your own happiness. It’s okay to care about yourself the most. You are not obligated to sit there and smile and swallow every bit of shit everyone heaps on you. You are more than furniture, you’re more than window dressing, you’re not their shiny toy. You’re human, and you have the right to say “That was shitty of you”. You have a right to protest your own mistreatment and set boundaries for respectful interactions. The rest of the world doesn’t realize you have this right, and they will act offended and appalled when you exercise it, but it is yours.”

The Oral History of Six Feet Under's Final Scene

Krause: It was strange for me filming those last episodes, having closed the book on his life. I felt like a ghost.

Ambrose: I remember him saying that to me, that he felt like a ghost. I love that man, the character and the actor. [When asked about the porch scene, when Claire takes one last picture of the family, Ambrose goes silent and takes a long pause.] I’m crying [audibly sobs]. It’s still in me.

I just watched this and bawled my eyes out (again)

Still the most beautiful finale of a show I have ever seen. One of these days I’ll rewatch the whole series
